Iced coffee beverages have gained popularity and sent a big chill through the coffee industry.
Consumers love their cappuccinos and mocha lattes, but have discovered that when these drinks are served cold, they are even more refreshing. In fact, iced coffee beverage consumption increased from 20% to 29% from 2003-2004, according to the National Coffee Association.
And making iced coffee is easy! If you can make iced tea, you can make an iced coffee. There are lots of flavorings and spices you can add to create your own one of a kind coffee concoction that is just as delicious as those from your favorite coffee shop. You can even make them healthier by adding pastured milk and cream and organic flavorings and spices.
Popular recipes include iced vanilla mocha, iced latte and iced rum coffee. Follow the tips below for your own refreshing iced coffee drinks.
*Pour the flavoring or spices in in the cup first. Then pour in coffee or espresso and ice. Last, top it off with the cold milk.
*To keep your drink from becoming watered down, freeze ice cubes made from fresh-brewed coffee instead of water.
*Use a coffee machine that produces a high quality espresso or coffee. Grind the coffee beans in the Capresso CoffeeTeam right before brewing to control the strength of your coffee.
*Be creative with optional ingredients such as whipped cream, nutmeg, cinnamon or chocolate shavings sprinkled on top.
